Best Royal Caribbean Mocktails
Mocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, virgin drinks, and zero proof cocktails are all words to describe fancy drinks that have no alcohol. I love that there are several delicious mocktail options on Royal Caribbean cruise ships. Find your new favorite Royal Caribbean mocktail here.
Many of these cruise drinks are usually served with alcohol, so be sure to order it as a virgin, zero proof or non-alcoholic drink.
Virgin pina colada
A virgin piña colada is a popular and delicious non-alcoholic cruise drink. This frozen slushy drink has yummy coconut and pineapple flavors. Pina coladas always remind me of a tropical vacation.
This was one of my teenage daughter’s favorite Royal Caribbean mocktails on our last cruise on Mariner of the Seas.
Strawberry daiquiri mocktail
This is another frozen blended drink that can be made without alcohol. It is like a strawberry slush drink.
Tropical crush
Tropical crush is one of the mocktails Royal Caribbean serves up. It is made with pineapple juice, mango, and yellow edition Red Bull and served over ice.
Strawberry limeade
This one has a bit of fizz. The ingredients in this refreshing drink are strawberry, lime juice and club soda.
Non-alcoholic mojito
This is a refreshing cocktail, be sure to say no alcohol. The mocktail version of the mojito is made with lime juice, soda water, simple syrup, and fresh mint leaves. The fresh mint is what makes this drink so delicious.
Shirley ginger
A shirley ginger mocktail appears similar to the classic mocktail, a shirley temple non-alcoholic drink. It is made with orange juice, lime juice, grenadine, and ginger ale.
Virgin watermelon margarita
The Royal Caribbean pool bar (at least on Mariner of the Seas) serves up a watermelon margarita that you can request be made without booze. They will make you a frozen mocktail made with margarita mix and watermelon syrup.
Watermelon mint lemonade
This is a refreshing zero proof cocktail that is perfect for sipping in the Caribbean sun. It is made with lemonade, watermelon syrup, and mint.
Coco loco mocktail
Coco locos are the signature cocktails on Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at Coco Cay. You can request it on the cruise ships too. The non-alcoholic option of this drink is made with tropical fruit juices and grenadine.
Miami Vice mocktail
A Miami Vice is a popular mocktail on cruise lines including Royal Caribbean. It is a combination of a virgin pina colada and a virgin strawberry daiquiri. It is a delicious layered frozen mocktail.
Mai tai zero proof
A mai tai is another classic cocktail that can be made without alcohol. A mai tai mocktail would be made with orange juice, sweet and sour mix, grenadine, and lime juice.
Non-alcoholic Cozumel Sunrise
Ask for the Cozumel Sunrise without the tequila. A virgin Cozumel sunrise is made with mango, lime juice, and grenadine.
Just writing this makes me wish I was back on one of Royal Caribbean ships enjoying a fruity drink or two.
The legal drinking age on Royal Caribbean International is 21 for sailings out of North America.
With drinks on Royal Caribbean you have the option of either paying as you go by charging each drink to your Sea Pass (onboard account) or by purchasing one of Royal Caribbean’s drink packages. There are a couple to choose from.
Royal Caribbean deluxe beverage package
The deluxe package is available on all Royal Caribbean ships. It is their alcoholic drink package that offers unlimited drinks plus so much more. The deluxe package includes:
- Alcoholic cocktails (to a max $ amount)
- Beer
- Wine by the glass
- Non-alcoholic cocktails (mocktails)
- Premium coffee and teas (but not Starbucks)
- Fountain soda (along with a refillable souvenir glass)

Royal Caribbean refreshment package
This Royal Caribbean drink package is a non-alcoholic package. This drink package is in-between the alcoholic package and the soda package. It is a great option and something I with other cruise lines like Carnival Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line would offer too. The Royal Caribbean refreshment package includes:
- Mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails)
- Coca-Cola souvenir cup for unlimited soda
- Bottled water
- Premium coffees and teas (but not Starbucks)
- Fresh squeezed fruit juices
- Milkshakes from Johnny Rockets (on select ships with this venue)
There is also a classic soda package, that as the name implies is unlimited soft drinks (fountain soda). You will also receive a refillable souvenir glass. Your souvenir cup can be refilled at any of the bars or conveniently at the freestyle beverage machines. These are vary handy. On Mariner of the Seas these self serve fountain soda machines were available on the Royal Promenade and in the Windjammer buffet.
Purchase your Royal Caribbean drink package online ahead of time, as it will be a lower price than waiting to purchase it onboard. The drink packages must be purchased for the full duration of your cruise, and the price is per day. There will be an automatic gratuity added to the total cost, regardless of which Royal Caribbean beverage package you choose.
The price of Royal Caribbean beverage packages vary sailing to sailing. You can read more about what is included and what isn’t on Royal Caribbean’s website.
