Each cruise line and cruise ship offer different amenities, be sure to research your ship before booking. Your travel agent can help with this.
Best cruise lines for a bachelorette party (or bachelor party cruise)
– Royal Caribbean Cruise Line
– Norwegian Cruise Line
– Carnival Cruise Lines
In no particular order and in my opinion.
All three of the above cruise lines have fun amenities and activities, generally a younger crowd, fun deck parties, pools, hot tubs, incredible food, a spa, live music and friendly crew members.
These three often are the most affordable as well (this of course can change with specials or promotions).
If you are looking for a little more upscale bachelorette party you could look at Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises or the newer Virgin Cruise Lines. Virgin Cruises is an adult only cruise line.
Popular bachelorette cruise itineraries
– Bahamas
– Western Caribbean
– Baja Mexico
– Bermuda
Some cruise lines have their own private island in the Bahamas. Royal Caribbean has Perfect Day at Coco Cay. This is an incredible island with a beautiful pool, great beaches and even a waterpark. Norwegian Cruise Line has Great Stirrup Cay which is a beautiful island with white sand beaches to relax at.
Bachelorette Cruise Tips
Consider a weekend cruise
A short cruise makes for a perfect bachelorette cruise. While I’m sure no one will want to get off the ship after only 3 or 4 days, it will be cheaper and easier for your closest friends to get the time off.
Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise line, and Carnival have 3 and 4 day cruises from several departure points in the U.S. including New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, and several Florida ports (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Tampa).
If you want to stretch your cruise vacation a little longer, you can also find a few 5-day cruise itineraries.
Arrive the day before
This is an important tip for any cruise vacation. You don’t want to miss the cruise ship and miss the best party bachelorette weekend!
This also allows you to be fully rested and make the most out of every minute of your destination bachelorette party.
Consider a drink package
Check with the cruise line for the drink package cost. The drink packages include both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It can not only save you money but help to know ahead of time how much your cruise vacation will cost. Each cruise line has a different inclusions and different drink package options.
Eat in the main dining rooms
This is a money saving cruise tip. The food in the main dining room is included in your cruise fare. The cruise lines all have specialty restaurants that have an additional cost. Save money by dining together at the restaurants you have already paid for.
Check the dress code (to help with packing)
Most cruise lines have a formal night or two during a cruise. The remaining nights are usually “smart casual” or “resort casual”. The dress code applies to the main dining room.
Norwegian Cruise Line no longer has formal nights, they have gone to a “dress up or not” approach.
It can be fun to get all dressed up and take lots of photos.
What to wear on a Carnival Cruise (Caribbean)
Combined bachelorette/bachelor party
While for some people this will be a definite NO, for others it can add to the fun and even save money.
You could have a joint party all cruise long or have separate nights. One night could be the bachelor party and the girls can stay away from certain areas (say the night club and casino). The girls could get spa treatments while the boys are partying away.
Then another night it could be the girls bachelorette party where the guys stay away from the areas the girls are at.
Having the bridesmaids and groomsmen plus close friends mingling all cruise long is sure to be a good time. It can add to the fun on the big day as well, as everyone will be that much closer.
